About the Role:
As the Operations Manager, you’ll play a key role in overseeing the branch’s operational and sales performance, ensuring outstanding service delivery across all touchpoints. This hands-on role will see you managing logistics, driving continuous improvement, and leading a team of dedicated professionals—all while fostering strong relationships with clients and partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Oversight: Lead daily operations across freight and sales, ensuring consistency, compliance, and performance excellence
- Customer Experience: Deliver exceptional service, maintaining clear and timely communication with clients
- Logistics Coordination: Manage freight operations, including bookings, airfreight solutions, and resolving complex logistics issues
- Account Management: Prepare quotes, build relationships, and act as a trusted advisor to clients
- Team Leadership: Inspire and guide your team—including Business Development staff, Operations Specialists, and drivers—to achieve collective goals
- Fleet Oversight: Ensure company vehicles are well-maintained and effectively utilised
- Administration & Reporting: Oversee branch-level budgeting, financial reporting, and general administration
- Continuous Improvement: Embrace change, solve problems creatively, and look for opportunities to streamline and improve operations
Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience in a similar airfreight management role, with expertise in domestic and international freight logistics
- Strong attention to detail and top-tier organisational skills
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset with a commitment to delivering results
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport across teams and clients
- Experience managing teams with a supportive, hands-on leadership style
- Confidence in juggling multiple responsibilities and priorities.
- Sound administrative capabilities, including budgeting, invoicing, and financial reporting
- Adaptability and resilience in a dynamic, ever-changing environment.
- A genuine passion for service and exceeding client expectations
